I have maintained a movement practice for most of my life 💃. In my younger years, this was primarily based in contemporary dance. During this time, I performed for QL2 Dance in both regional and international tours as well as for brother, choreographer James Batchelor.

More recently, I have been practicing Tai Chi, Qi Gong and Yin yoga; movement and energetic practices that now deeply inform my choreographic interests.

Theatre

🌸 i play myself (in development).

I Play Myself is a new, interdisciplinary performance work drawing on both text and movement. Highlighting the many facets of identity, I Play Myself examines mental illness, queerness and work to uncover what gives a life meaning and purpose.

In 2024, I was a resident artist at The Street Theatre where I was supported to develop the text and a movement palette for this work. In 2025, this work remains in development.

Prior to this, I was selected to participate in Canberra Theatre Centre’s New idea’s Lab to explore the seed of this idea. During this development, I worked with Danielle Micich, the Artistic Director of Force Majeure, investigating the possibilities of combining text and movement. Following this collaboration, I was selected to participate in a two week professional development opportunity with Force: INCITE to further investigate this idea.

🌸 production design.

As well as movement-based practice, I have developed a strong interest in costume and production design.

In October 2022, I designed costumes for the Everyman Theatre staging of Beautiful Thing by playwright Jonathan Harvey at ACTHUB.

In 2024, I supported costumes for the Everyman Theatre staging of The Inheritance by playwright Matthew López.

Both performances were nominated for an Ovations award for Best Costume Design.

🌸 a glimmer of hope.

A Glimmer of Hope is a one-human, disability-led music-theatre work exploring healing, identity, and voice through imagery, puppetry, story, and song while also championing co-design of a universally accessible audience experience as an embedded mode of theatre development and design.

I am contributing to this work as a movement based collaborator.
