An Evening Length Performance II

An Evening Length Performance II

For Kaleidoscope IV, an exhibition at Belco Arts, I created a companion piece to An Evening Length Performance I.

Like that work, this painting includes references to many of the themes I am interested in exploring in my other creative work: performance, queerness, the aesthetics of identity, decorative objects as an extension of self, and of course art making.

An Evening Length Performance II (2025)

In this painting, I drew on similar references to my last in terms of rococo architecture and ornate prosceniums. I created a detailed backdrop inspired by Bloomsbury group textiles and again drew on important decorative items in my home. My girlies in this paining are inspired by the iconic trans music artist Sophie and one of my favourite actors Emma Corrin. I was also interested in mixing in vibes of 90s witches and BDSM babes.

Once again I used every side of the canvas and included each of my cats, Luna and Artemis in the painting. I particularly love that Luna is doing hardcore tarot within her very own salt circle.

This painting was exhibited in Kaleidoscope IV at Belco Arts in October 2025.
